Deezer has announced that Axel Dauchez, who has been the streaming service’s CEO since 2010, is stepping down. He will leave the company to “pursue a new professional opportunity” in September.

In a statement, Deezer founder Daniel Marhely said: “The entire Deezer team and I wish to whole-heartedly thank Axel for his hugely valuable contribution over the last four years. We wish Axel all the best and continued success as he pursues his new career. Together, we have grown our brand in France and throughout the world and will continue to pursue this growth with the management team”.

Dauchez will stay in charge of the company until his departure. No replacement has been announced, but CEO of Deezer’s US division Tyler Goldman has also now been added to the whole group’s management team. If you wanted to speculate, you could take a guess that he’s being lined up to take over to coincide with the company’s long awaited US launch.
