Court approves sale of six Prince properties

A judge in Minnesota has approved the sale of six properties that belonged to Prince. The trust administrating the late musician’s estate had applied for permission from the courts to put the properties – which include a commercial building, a plot of land and some of Prince’s other homes – up for sale.

As previously reported, the Bremer Trust seeking court permission to put some of Prince’s property on the market led to speculation that the singer’s most famous home, Paisley Park, with its on-site recording studio, would also soon be up for sale. But a spokesperson for the trust insisted that there were currently “no plans to sell either Paisley Park or the property referred to as the ‘Purple Rain’ house”.

Following this week’s court ruling, the trust will be able to list the six properties to be sold with real estate agents from 26 Aug, the slight delay seemingly to allow Prince’s half-brother Alfred Jackson to tour each site first, according to Minnesota Public Radio News.

It’s thought another eight properties owned by Prince will also be sold in the near future, though that will require separate court approval, and still won’t include Paisley Park.

As previously reported, the courts are also still ascertaining who Prince’s rightful heirs should be, he having not left a will when he died back in April.
