Other notable announcements and developments today…

• Warner/Chappell Music has announced the promotion of Pascale Khalaf to the role of VP Synch & Licensing. “Sync”, said MD Richard Manners, too late to correct the error in the job title. “Synch”, muttered Khalaf, who didn’t get the spelling memo.

• A public memorial service for Colin Vearncombe (aka Black), who died last month, will be held at the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral on 19 Feb at 7pm.

• Tulisa’s put vocals on a new Carnao Beats track, a cover of Kariya’s 1988 single ‘Let Me Love You For Tonight’.

• Dua Lipa will play Heaven in London on 31 Mar. She played Oslo in Hackney last night, if you want a rough measure of how her career is going.

• Lady Gaga will perform a tribute to David Bowie at this year’s Grammy Awards, which makes a whole lot more sense than what the BRITs is rumoured to have planned. She’s also going to perform the American national anthem at the Super Bowl this month. No pressure.

• Rihanna is only going to sing a song at the bloody BRITs later this month. She is due on stage at 9.20pm but will probably appear at 8.55pm, and then Universal and Tidal will squabble over whose fault that was. Happy days.
