Other notable announcements and developments today…

• Universal Music has teamed with London-based ‘white label app’ and online content provider Screenburn Media in a new international deal. Subsequently, Universal Music will stream pay-to-view live footage and longform docs by the likes of INXS and Smashing Pumpkins via said artists’ individual Facebook pages.

• Jessie Ware/Disclosure-enabling label PMR has created its own new singles-based imprint, PMR Beat Club, which is designed to ‘cherry pick’ the best new tracks by the best new acts. Arriving first off the bat on 12 Oct is ‘People’ by Polish dance wonderkid Klaves. Stream it here.

• Will.i.am today launches his first-ever eyewear collection or, to use real words, some sunglasses. “The collection pays homage to the evolution of eyewear” says the press release. If Will.i.am’s sun-specs business is a success, expect other pop stars to follow suit, and the iPhone 7 to only work when you’re wearing a pair of Bono’s shades.

• Susan Boyle is poised to release her sixth LP, an “inspiration and hope”-inspired covers compilation titled ‘Hope’. There’s even a version of ‘Wish You Were Here’ by Pink Floyd on it! It’s released 24 Nov! Details and a trailer here!

• Yannis Philippakis off of Foals is writing his first solo LP, bringing Hudson Mohawke on board to assist. An optimistic HudMo has told NME “it’ll be pretty special”, so maybe it will be. Special, I mean.

• Queen Bey-Yonce and her sidekick Jay-Z have released the first of a trio of clips trailing their Dikayl Rimmasch-directed new short film ‘On The Run’, which charts the pair’s co-headlining arena spree of the same name. So go on and watch part I, the French New Wave-ripping ‘Bang Bang’, now via Nowness.

• Tedious 90s throwback Kiesza has announced that she will release her debut album, ‘Sound Of A Woman’, on 17 Nov. And you can catch her live in the UK on 18 Nov in London and 19 Nov in Manchester. One week prior to the album release, new single ‘No Enemiesz’ will also hit the streets. You can listen to that here, if you want.

• ‘Ultraviolence’ chanteuse Lana Del Rey has cancelled all of her forthcoming European shows, bar none, plus a session in BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge that was meant to be happening tonight. “For medical reasons independent of our will, the artist has been forced to cancel all promotional activities planned in Europe over the coming days”, Del Rey’s label Polydor tells MTV.
