• US-based artist management firm Outerloop has partnered with Cooking Vinyl America on its label, Outerloop Records. And Outerloop founder Mike Mowery is “elated”. See, that’s a good word, isn’t it? No one need ever be THRILLED again.

• Jane Weaver has signed a new record deal with Fire Records. So now you know.

• Tom ‘Grover’ Biery is now Senior VP Of Digital Marketing, Strategy And D2C at American independent music firm Concord Music Group. He’s an ex-Warner exec who has more recently worked in artist management and music consultancy. Look at me with my concise biographies of new Concord staff members. You’re welcome.

• You know the International Federation Of The Phonographic Industry, right? Well, it’s Global Director Of Communications, so that’ll be Adrian Strain, has announced he’s stepping down at the end of the year. So take note. He’s setting up a communications consultancy. If you want to add that to your note.

• Facebook is recruiting a Director Of Global Music Licensing Partnerships. [Insert wild speculation about Facebook’s growing music ambitions here].

• The Weeknd and Daft Punk have teamed up for new track ‘Starboy’. The Weeknd’s new album of the same name will be out on 25 Nov.

• Mica Levi has released a new song, ‘Clothes Wear Me’, as part of the Adult Swim Singles Series.

• Having won the Polaris Music Prize for his album ‘99.9%’ earlier this week, Kaytranada has released a new free mixtape called ‘0.001%’. No word on what happened to the remaining 0.099%.

• Grumbling Fur have released the video for ‘Heavy Days’, taken from their new album ‘Furfour’.

• Diana have announced a new album, ‘Familiar Touch’. It’ll be out on 18 Nov. From it, this is ‘Confession’.

• Tall Ships have released a new single called ‘Meditations On Loss’ that you should listen to.

• Ne-Yo will be touring the UK In December, finishing up at Brixton Academy on 16 Dec.

• The nominations for this year’s UK Music Video Awards have been announced. Check them all out here.

Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Awards will take place again at Koko in Camden on 21 Jan. Among the winners, Goldie will receive the lifetime achievement award.
