By Andy Malt | Published on Thursday 10 September 2015
Other notable announcements and developments today…
• Live Nation has appointed Carrie Davis as its Chief Communications Officer. She joins from Disney. “Communications”, says CEO Michael Rapino.
• Imagem Music Group’s New York office has promoted COO Bill Gaden to CEO for the US. Steve King has also been made Vice President of Imagem Creative Services, with Isabel Arisso promoted to the role of manager in the same division. “Personal”, says Gaden.
• Look, I know you’ve all seen this already, but I was so distracted by the fact that I was apparently in the first 1% of people to listen to Charli XCX on Spotify that I forgot to do the bragging I assume I was supposed to. See which artists you got to before everyone else here. It’s a new Spotify thingy, see?
• Lana Del Rey has created a little sampler video thing for her new album ‘Honeymoon’, which is out on 18 Sep.
• Who would like to watch a new Julia Holter video? Me, I would. And I already have, so now it’s your turn.
• AEG Live Asia has confirmed the cancellation of two Bon Jovi shows in China “due to unforeseen reasons”. As previously reported, it’s thought that the Chinese government cancelled the concerts after discovering that the band featured a picture of the Dalai Lama in a video backdrop at a show in Taiwan in 2011.
