Other notable announcements and developments today…
• Lykke Li stars in a new advert for Gucci. It also features her song ‘Just Like A Dream’.
• If you want to hear Kanye ******* West’s ‘All Day’ without ITV ruining it, and you failed to catch himm at Koko last night, you can now get the track on your download or streaming platform of choice. A Steve McQueen-directed video is apparently imminent too.
• The returns of Meghan Trainor continue to diminish with the release of new single, ‘Dear Future Husband’.
• Doldrums last single, ‘Hotfoot’, was approved back in January. And look, if he hasn’t gone and released another very good single. I continue to await his new album, due out on 6 Apr, with excitement.
• Holly Miranda has announced the release of the follow-up to her 2010 album, ‘The Magician’s Private Library’. No, she’s not prolific, but she is good, so it’s OK. ‘Holly Miranda’, for that is the album’s name, will be release through Dangerbird Records on 19 May. Here’s the first single, ‘All I Want Is To Be Your Girl’.
• I’m From Barcelona have announced that they will release a new album on 25 Mar. It’s called ‘Growing Up Is For Trees’, which is a pretty good title. Is the music “pretty good” though? Well, here’s the video for lead single ‘Violins’, which will give you an answer to that question.
• Millencolin have a new album coming out. Do people still like Millencolin? People in Derby really liked them in 1998. Well, the album’s out on 27 Apr through Epitaph. It’s called ‘True Brew’. Here’s the video for ‘Sense & Sensibility’ (which I like).
• Approved earlier this year, Laura Moody has announced a UK tour in April, which will see her perform in unusual venues including laundrettes, chapels, boats, bike sheds and bookshops. Details of all dates are right here.
