Other notable announcements and developments today…

• Eventbrite has announced deals to provide online ticketing, and especially mobile ticketing, to Ministry Of Sound and the WOMAD festival. Ever wondered what buying tickets via Eventbrite is like? Well, book yourself in to the next CMU Insights masterclass and see for yourself!

• Icelandic music hub Tónlist.is has announced a tie-up with 7digital to “re-launch the first and only music service based in Iceland”. The all improved Tónlist.is, which offers both streaming and downloads, will launch early next year.

• The Spotify app reckons that Coldplay’s new album ‘A Head Full Of Dreams’ will be available via the service from Friday, ie a week after release on CD, download and premium streaming platforms. Artists should be allowed to pick and choose where their music sits, but maybe they could do a better job of telling fans where it will be available when? Or perhaps guessing is part of the fun of being a music fan in 2015.

• Chvrches perform a song written by a contributor to the (always excellent) Mortified podcast this week. In-keeping with the theme of the podcast – adults read out their teenage diaries – it was written by a fourteen year old. Listen to the full episode here.

• Emmy The Great will release a new album, ‘Second Love’, on 11 Mar through Bella Union. Here’s the first track from it, ‘Dance W Me’.

• Sleigh Bells have put out a new track called ‘Champions Of Unrestricted Beauty’ on SoundCloud. And not a Demi Lovato sample in sight.

• The Body set out to make “the grossest pop album of all time”. Find out if they succeeded when they release ‘No One Deserves Happiness’ on 18 Mar. Here’s a hint with the song ‘Shelter Is Illusory’.

• Coldplay have added another date to their 2016 tour. They’ll play Wembley Stadium on 15 Jun. Tickets on sale this Friday.

• It’s Grammy nominations time. I’m not going to list them all. Look for yourself here.
