CMU’s One Liners: Electric Ballroom app, MIA video, Ninja award and more
By Andy Malt and Chris Cooke | Published on Tuesday 14 July 2015
Other notable announcements and developments today…
• The Electric Ballroom in Camden has launched a new iPhone app which, amongst other things, will allow you to pay for stuff in the venue without having to have any cash or cards with you.
• MIA has released a new video featuring two new songs. You can watch it on that Apple Music.
• Menace Beach will release a new EP called ‘Super Transporterreum’ on 25 Sep. Oh look, here’s the title track.
• Battles have announced two UK shows in October. They’ll play Manchester’s Academy 2 on 23 Oct and the Electric Ballroom in London on 28 Oct. Hey, why not enjoy Battles and that new app at the same time?
• Ninja Tune Label Manager Peter Quicke and the indie’s founders Matt Black and Jonathan More – aka Coldcut – will together receive the Innovator Award at the AIM Independent Music Awards in September. Which sounds like a jolly good idea to me.
