Other notable announcements and developments today…

• Kobalt Label Services has announced that it will be working with IHT Records to release a new ‘best of’ from David Gray in October, which will include an ‘ever changing tracklisting’ version for the streaming platforms.

• Rick Astley has signed to booking agency WME for worldwide representation. He’s currently on tour in the US, ahead of the October release of his latest album, ’50’, over there.

• Universal Music in the US has appointed Samantha Fink to the role of SVP Human Resources, reporting into EVP of HR Gautam Srivastava.

• Spotify has launched its first documentary film as park of its ‘Landmark’ series. ‘Metallica: The Early Years’ is available on the platform now. You can watch part one of the four part series on YouTube here.

• Earlier this week, Danny Brown announced that the guests on his new album will include Kendrick Lamar, Kelela and Earl Sweatshirt. New single ‘Pneumonia’ features none of them, but is ace.

• Loyle Carner has stated his recorded music format preference on new track ‘No CD’.

• Kiran Leonard has released a new track, ‘Coayacán’. You can catch him on tour in the UK next week too.

• Kaiser Chiefs have released a new song called ‘Hole In My Soul’ and will be touring the arenas of the UK in February and March next year. Sentences like that are never going to get any less confusing.

• Cat’s Eyes have announced that they will be touring the UK this autumn, starting with a show at King’s Place in London on 31 Oct.
