Other notable announcements and developments today…

• An auction for Beatport was due to take place today, but has now been pushed back to 26 May. The dance music-focused digital music platform is being sold off as part of owner SFX’s bankruptcy restructuring.

• Alicia Keys has got a new single out called ‘In Common’. “We are all kind of messed up and that’s all right”, she says of the inspiration for the song. “In fact, that’s what helps us understand each other. To me, that’s is what is so beautiful”.

• DJ Shadow has released a video for recent single ‘The Mountain Will Fall’.

• The Joy Formidable have released a new single, ‘Radio Of Lips’, ahead of their UK tour, which kicks off this Saturday.

• William Tyler’s shared another new track from his upcoming ‘Modern Country’ album. This is ‘Kingdom Of Jones’.

• Brodka’s released a new track, ‘Santa Muerte’. It’s all about cultivating a positive relationship with death. Make friends here.

• Årabrot have released a video for new single ‘The Gospel’, which you can have a watch of here.

• Emika will premiere her first symphony at Funkhaus in Berlin on 27 May, as part of Music Tech Fest.

• Kanye West is getting a Webby Award for “changing the cultural paradigm of how music is shared, released, presented and consumed” with his ‘The Life Of Pablo’ album. So let that be a lesson to you.

• If you’re nothing like me, then you’ll regularly get upset that you don’t have a Pharrell Williams action figure. Well dry your eyes, my friend.
