Civil Wars’ Joy Williams hints at solo LP
By Aly Barchi | Published on Thursday 10 April 2014
Joy Williams, one-time vocalist of the now-torn Civil Wars, who split apart in 2012 before releasing a chart-topping album in 2013, has started on a solo LP. So how’s that for a thrill, hmmmm? Hmmmmmmm? Quite.
Anyway, whilst waging her first release as a single entity since 2010’s ‘We Mapped The World’ EP, Williams in a spare minute climbed on the still active Civil Wars FB page to post an in-studio clip of an untitled new song, and to write: “Started recording a solo album yesterday. Butterflies. Bittersweet. Mostly sweet”.
