By CMU Editorial | Published on Tuesday 2 February 2010
Broken Social Scene have announced that they will release a new as-yet-untitled album via City Slang on 3 May.
For the writing and recording of this album, the collective’s core duo, Kevin Drew and Brendan Canning, were joined by Reverie Sound Revue’s Lisa Lobsinger (vocals), Do Make Say Think’s Charles Spearin (guitars), Apostle Of Hustle’s Andrew Whiteman (guitars), Sam Goldberg (guitars) and Junior Blue’s Justin Peroff (drums).
There are also brief appearances from other collective members Leslie Feist, Amy Millan and Evan Cranley of Stars, Emily Haines and Jimmy Shaw of Metric, Jason Collett, Do Make Say Think’s Ohad Benchetrit and Julie Penner, Raising The Fawn’s John Crossingham, Marty Kinack and Leon Kingstone, as well as outsiders The Sea And Cake’s Sam Prekop, John McEntire, Sebastian Grainger and Jason Tait from The Weakerthans.
The band will play the following UK shows in May, which is good news for people with ATP tickets and people who live in London. Brightonians should scoot on down to our Great Escape story.
