Brandt Brauer Frick Ensemble make orchestral manoeuvres on new LP
By CMU Editorial | Published on Friday 19 August 2011
German experimental outfit The Brandt Brauer Frick Ensemble, who have now swelled from a trio to a ten-piece band, are set to release a new album entitled ‘Mr Machine’.
As opposed to the computer-generated sonics that characterised their earlier work, the LP will consist of four tracks from the group’s 2010 debut ‘You Make Me Real’, reworked with more of an organic orchestral treatment. Also featuring on the tracklist are covers of Emika’s ‘Pretend’, Agnes Obel’s ‘On Powdered Ground (Mixed Lines)’ and James Braun’s ‘A 606 N Rock N Roll’.
The new album is due out in October via !K7.
