BMG has announced a new deal with Sleater-Kinney as part of its alliance with US-based publisher Big Deal Music. The arrangement comes as Sub Pop releases the band’s new album, the first since 2005, ‘No Cities To Live’.
Confirming the deal, David Hirshland at BMG Chrysalis US told reporters: “We are thrilled to continue our long-term relationship with Sleater-Kinney. Partnering with Big Deal is a very exciting prospect as we together look to maximise the reach of this new album which is already proving to be a major statement in the world of rock music in 2015”.
Meanwhile Dave Ayers of Big Deal Music added: “Creatively, this is a special moment for a singular, massively important band. To have an opportunity to contribute to the efforts of everyone involved is a rare privilege. The record is a real watershed, and there’s a whole new generation of fans about to be born right before our eyes”.
