BMG launches Brazilian operation
By Andy Malt | Published on Wednesday 1 June 2016
Keen international expander BMG has announced the launch of a new operation in Brazil, which follows the acquisition of music publisher Basement Brazil. The newly incorporated BMG Brazil will be headed up by that company’s founder, John Telfer.
“The launch of BMG Brazil is one of the most significant developments in the Brazilian music market for many years”, says Tefler, who launched Basement Brazil in 1978. “I have been incredibly impressed by the scale, the infrastructure, and the reach BMG has achieved in such a short time. This is a tremendous opportunity for Basement’s clients, who I am confident will receive an even better service than before, and for the new BMG Brazil team”.
BMG CEO Hartwig Masuch added: “The addition of John Telfer and the respected Basement operation gives BMG a strong platform to launch in Brazil. The new operation will not only increase the speed and quality of our service to our international clients in Brazil, it will allow us to offer that unique BMG service to artists and songwriters from Brazil. Great music knows no barriers”.
