Black Eyed Guinness gig no longer no-go for Malaysian Muslims
By CMU Editorial | Published on Thursday 3 September 2009
The Malaysian government has withdrawn a ban which forbade Muslims from attending a previously reported Black Eyed Peas gig in Kuala Lumpur, for reasons best known to themselves.
It seems officials had imposed the ban not because of Fergie’s raunchy dancing or revealing attire, but because the concert is part of the previously reported Guinness 250th birthday celebrations, which includes a series of gigs staged all over the world. And as all Muslims will tell you, Guinness is evil.
It’s not clear why the ban has been lifted, though word has it the drink will not now be sold at the gig, and the drink firm won’t put their logo on any publicity material, which possibly placated officials.
