Bieber’s DUI trial date delayed
By Andy Malt | Published on Thursday 24 April 2014
A request to delay Justin Bieber’s trial on DUI charges has been granted, following a court filing earlier this week by the singer’s lawyers.
The trial was originally scheduled to begin on 5 May, but Bieber’s legal team asked for a 60 day postponement to give them time to examine evidence and decide whether or not to accept a plea deal. In the end, they were granted slightly longer at a hearing yesterday, with a new date set for 7 Jul.
Billboard reports that Bieber’s legal rep Roy Black said that a particular area his team would be focussing on the trial were the drug and alcohol tests carried out by police when the singer was arrested, saying: “There are some serious matters regarding the testing”.
