Become Freddie Mercury for charity
By CMU Editorial | Published on Tuesday 13 July 2010
The AIDS awareness charity set up by the remaining members of Queen following the death of Freddie Mercury in 1991, the Mercury Phoenix Trust has announced the first annual Freddie For A Day fundraising event. As the name suggests, people are being asked to dress as Freddie for an entire day in order to raise money for the charity.
The event will take place on 3 Sep (the closest Friday to Mercury’s birthday, 5 Sep) and participants can choose any Freddie outfit they like, though the classic yellow jacket and white trousers combo the singer wore at Wembley Stadium in 1986 is available to buy on the MPT website.
