Q and Kerrang! publisher and Kiss and Magic operator Bauer has appointed Sony Music man Mark Hardy to a new role called Group Digital Director, in which he will oversee the web, social and mobile activity of the media firm’s “London lifestyle and radio brands”.
Having worked in the film and gaming sectors as well as music, Hardy joined the Sony Music empire in 2010 via a marketing role at the Syco business, before becoming a Senior Strategic Director for the wider group. At Bauer he will initially work on developing the online presence of Bauer’s existing brands, though will also have a role in developing new digital services.
Confirming the new hire, Bauer UK boss Paul Keenan told CMU: “Mark’s unique experience of marketing branded content globally will be exceptionally valuable to us as we accelerate the digital migration of our world-famous brands. I know that Mark is fascinated and excited by our swiftly changing and ever challenging consumer landscape – especially the commercialisation of new and emerging digital formats”.
