Barat working on solo album

Carl Barat has announced that he is in the process of recording a solo album, presumably to keep his mind off the horror that is likely to be The Libertines’ previously reported reunion for festival shows next summer.
Barat reportedly told the NME that he had been working on solo songs since Dirty Pretty Things’ split last year, and is currently in talks with various labels to release the album. He is also expected to announce solo shows in the coming weeks.
