WATERS

Apparently I have to type WATERS just like that – all capitals. Seems a bit shouty if you ask me. I’m letting it pass, however, because WATERS’ (AAAAAAAAARGH!) new single, ‘O Holy Break Of Day’, is so very very lovely.

Led by former Port O’Brien frontman Van Pierszalowski, the band are due to release the single on 12 Sep through City Slang, ahead of their debut album, ‘Out In The Light’, which hits stores a week later. The record was written between Norway and the US, before being recorded with producer John Congleton (Modest Mouse, Explosions In The Sky, Vessels).

‘O Holy Break Of Day’ is a catchy rock song, which starts simple and gradually builds to epic proportions. Pierszalowski’s vocals gradually become more impassioned. You can stream and download it via the SoundCloud player below, and catch the band doing it live in front of your eyes at two London shows next month.
