WANG

It has been a dozen years since the WANG crew first unleashed their parties around the clubs of London, and in order to mark their silk anniversary they will return yet again tomorrow night to give you some bass in your face. For the birthday bash, they’ve pulled in a great line-up of long time supporters of their cause.

Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnston return once more with ‘A Love From Outer Space’ project, slowing down the BPMs and upping the grooves to maximum. Also, one of my personal faves, A Guy Called Gerald, will delve into the vaults for an old skool set to cover everything from techno to acid and electro to rave. Should be phenomenal.

Elsewhere, Radioactive Man will perform live, showcasing more tracks from his forthcoming album on WANG TRAX (Keith’s live shows have always been a cornerstone of the WANG vibe), UK techno bod Mark Broom makes a welcome return, and the mighty DMX Krew will join in the mayhem, dropping some serious heavyweight roots, dub, reggae and dancehall in room three.

As ever resident and promoter Electro Elvis will be firmly at the helm, and showcasing some of his new material. Unlike many others this party crew have stood firm to their original ethos – “less of a club and more of a party” – throughout their time on the scene, so expect the usual WANG vibe at the newly revamped Hidden Club in Vauxhall. Highly recommended.

Saturday 12 Nov, Hidden, 100 Tinworth Street, London, SE11, 10pm – 7am, £10 adv, more info here.
