Having first tired of the “anessa” portion of her first name, VV Brown has now grown weary of her entire surname, and so would, from now on, like to be known only as VV. And until she decides she’s hogging too many of the Vs, I think we should all respect her wishes.
But what do we get in return? Well, perhaps realising that it might be tough for us all to let go of over 70% of her stage name, she offers by way of a reward ‘Shift’, the first single from her as-yet-untitled new album.
The track, and the album, was co-written with and produced by relatively unknown producer James Leggett, who goes by the moniker Nearly Native. The two began working together after [Brown] discovered his music on SoundCloud year ago.
This single (along with the snippet of music released in a trailer last month) show a strong step forward by an artist with a clear creative vision for herself. Listen to ‘Shift’ here:
