Visions Of Trees

Earlier this year Visions Of Trees (a Shoreditch duo who comprise vocalist Sara Atalar and electronics whizz Joni Juden) released their debut single ‘Sometimes It Kills’ to much praise, both in CMU and elsewhere. ‘Sirens’, the soon to be released follow up, sees them continue to explore and develop their shimmering pop-tronica, though it ventures subtly into more urban territory, with a stuttering almost 2-step glitchy beat that dovetails effortlessly with the song’s pristine 90s trance aesthetic.

There’s an epic feel about ‘Sirens’, and with its ludicrously exuberant chorus and general sense of controlled confidence, you could imagine the likes of Britney or even, gasp, Lady Gaga singing this, it’s that explosive.

Despite only forming in 2009, the pair have also been busy playing live and at festivals and have built up a significant catalogue of remix work, adding their distinctive sound to reworks of everyone from Everything Everything to Alice Gold. Released via Deadly People on 17 Oct, ‘Sirens’ is now up on SoundCloud to hear, and the duo are also touring the UK in the autumn in support.
