Approved: Tycho – Division

In January, Tycho – aka Scott Hansen – re-issued his 2014 album ‘Awake’ in deluxe form, with slightly different artwork and a stack of remixes attached.
Then on 30 Jun he put out a short documentary titled ‘Closing The Awake Chapter’. With such finality comes the big question as to when a new period of activity might commence, but don’t concern yourself with that, because said new period began the very next day with the release of new single ‘Division’.
Written in 7/8 time, the track is far more accessible that the first four words of this sentence might suggest. Staying true to Hansen’s sonic palate, the track is washed in warm electronic sounds, with melody and tension added by guitar lines that flow through them.
