The Holy

Set to release their debut album, ‘Daughter’, next month, The Holy have unleashed new single ‘Fanfare III’. The track follows the blisteringly urgent ‘Land Before Time’, which was released in April, and upholds the high bar set by that previous single.

Defying convention, it’s more than four minutes before you hear any vocals on ‘Fanfare III’, by which time the song has already taken you on a tumultuous journey.

Frontman Eetu Henrik Iivari explains: “There are actually three phases in the song. Two big themes – dystopian self- loathing and utopian hopeful dreaming – and one short period of awakening in the middle. First the present, then the change and after that the naive dream of an individual. The hopeful sight into the future. Better tomorrow”.

“It’s kind of a story of me opening my eyes for the evils of the world thru my everyday dreams”, he continues. “Like, if I aim to get into them – I need the world to exist and to be dozen times better for everyone in the future. Humans are so selfish overall and I believe that the urge for change has to be connected into those selfish levels to proceed further. That happened to me and it can sure happen to others as well”.

‘Daughter’ is set for release on 21 Sep. Right now, listen to ‘Fanfare III’ here:
