The Body

This week, drone metal duo The Body release their fourth album ‘I Shall Die Here’, a collaboration with The Haxan Cloak.

Sonically, the new material returns to the more claustrophobic sound of 2010’s ‘All The Waters Of The World Turn To Blood’, compared to last year’s (still pretty claustrophobic) ‘Christs, Redeemers’. Lee Buford’s slow, thunderous drums remain heavily present, as do Chip King’s ground shaking bass and shrill (yeah, I’m going with shrill) vocals.

The Haxan Cloak then takes these familiar elements and twists them into something new, as well adding a new electronic side to the project and, amazingly, darkening the atmosphere of the music even more.

The band will be in the UK for a run of shows later this month, starting at Audio in Glasgow on 22 Apr and finishing up at Desert Fest at The Underworld in London on 26 Apr.
