Danny Tenaglia

Clocking up five years in the capital, Supernova hauls in NYC dance music giant Danny Tenaglia for a mentally shattering, feet-killing thirteen hour set as part of its birthday celebrations tomorrow night.

From its Sunday night origins for 300 dedicated followers, Supernova has grown to become a big Saturday night house in Kings Cross at Egg London’s cool multi-roomed space and garden. Danny Tenaglia, meanwhile, shouldn’t need much introduction. A DJ, a producer and remixer, with over 200 songs under his belt, having worked with musical icons such as Madonna, Grace Jones, Pet Shop Boys, and Blondie.

Tenaglia’s early New York residencies, his Groovejet Miami WMC parties and then the Space Ibiza guest sessions alongside Carl Cox and Richie Hawtin are legendary, as was his surprise return guest slot in Ibiza for Sankey’s last summer. And with over 30 years of DJing experience, Danny’s commitment to playing new music and incorporating it with music from his past is still a very big part of his performance. Towards the end of his sets he can often be seen on the dancefloor himself, mingling and dancing with the same people who came to see him perform. A rare diamond.

Room One will see Danny Tenaglia and Tom Stephan playing high class sets, but there will also be a lot more going on elsewhere in the club worth checking out. Room Two will house the Supernova crew: JB, Nils Hess, Kevin D’Cruz, Varon V, Samantha Blackburn, Groove Tempest, Kyle E, Willers Brothers, Jack Le Roc, Eric Gaciag. Room Three will have Sound Advice, with Cera Alba, Nathan Rivers, Aubreychenko, Pressplay, Tel Everett & Craig Mac, Rhythm Junky, Jamma b2b Luca DV, and Luca Ruf b2b Felipe Dublanc. And finally, in Room Four, Bruk showcases Alfredo Ramos, Toni C, Sputnick, Monica Avillez, Mely Moon, Simeon Marko and Ludwig Di Acquaviva.

Saturday 17 Aug, Egg, 200 York Way, Kings Cross, London, N7 9AX, 10pm-11am, £17-£25, more info here.
