Approved: Solange feat Kendrick Lamar – Looks Good With Trouble

So Solange is back. Back, that is, to bossing the Approved slot (again), if only because she’s gone and signed to Columbia Records, releasing a new Kendrick Lamar and extra ‘S’-featuring remake of her ‘True’ EP skit ‘Look Good With Trouble – a ‘collab’ with Dev Hynes aka Blood Orange – as if to prove why.
In ‘Looks Good With Trouble’ mark II, Solange’s luxuriant, skin-warm vocal lolls all over Hynes’ ‘vibey’ arcade game-style backbeat, playing on the same hot-cool, rich v bare, real v artificial contrast that makes Frank Ocean’s ‘Thinkin Bout You’ what it is; a great damn track. And I’m only saying ‘damn’ because Solange says it… quite a lot.
