Approved: Sima Kim and Ryuei Kotoge – Rêveur
By Andy Malt | Published on Tuesday 5 August 2014
Having both quietly built up solid back catalogues of low-key solo releases over the last couple of years, producers Sima Kim and Ryuei Kotoge teamed up to work on a track together earlier this year. Though aside from a recent feature on Pitchfork, that track, ‘Rêveur’ remains somewhat under the radar, which is a shame because it’s really a perfect amalgamation of their two styles.
Kim’s more ethereal sound wraps around Kotoge’s harder edges, softening them as they try to break free. I don’t know if they’ve got more collaborations hidden away, but I hope so because this track sounds like the start of something.
