Approved: Nas – Nasty
By Aly Barchi | Published on Thursday 16 June 2011
Three years after the release of his untitled ninth album, which was somewhat overshadowed by the controversy around its artwork and originally planned title, esteemed rapper Nas is back with the first track from his tenth, which sees him getting his head down and back at his best, focusing purely on rap fundamentals in latest single ‘Nasty’, which you can stream below via his SoundCloud page.
The track is the first taken from his next solo record ‘Life Is Good’, which will reportedly feature contributions from Mobb Deep and Odd Future crooner Frank Ocean. So grassroots that it bypasses such frivolities as a chorus, ‘Nasty’ is a non-stop onslaught of words over a potent, no-frills loop as handled by Salaam Remi, who has worked with just about every notable hip hop name you’d care to mention.
