Menace Beach

Menace Beach have announced that they will release their second album, ‘Lemon Memory’, through Memphis Industries on 20 Jan. The news comes attached to new track ‘Maybe We’ll Drown’, which sees the outfit’s pace slowed, the distortion turned down and – perhaps the most obvious difference from earlier songs – the duo’s Liza Violet step up to lead vocals.

“The one ‘rule’ thing we went into the album session with was to keep in mind that sometimes doing the opposite is much more interesting”, explains Violet.

And keeping with that theme, where the other half of Menace Beach – Ryan Needham – dominated their debut album, ‘Ratworld’, Violet takes control of ‘Lemon Memory’. “Liza got that look in the eye and a head-down-blinkers-on thing, and only a moron would try and get in the way of that”, says Needham. “It’s all about keeping those ideas in their purest form and diluting as little as possible”.

Following the album’s release, the band will head out on a UK tour throughout next February.
