Approved: Maribou State
By Andy Malt | Published on Monday 13 April 2015
Signed to Ninja Tune imprint Counter Records at the start of the year, and first tipped in these pages by Eddy Temple-Morris two years ago, Maribou State are set to release their debut album, ‘Portraits’, on 1 Jun.
Having introduced their new full band set up at a show at Oslo in Hackney last month, the band are now set to take the album’s warmly produced sound to the festival circuit. The record itself features vocals from Holly Walker and Jono McCleery, with juxtaposed synth and guitar lines over looping breakbeats.
