Approved: Jessica Pratt

Signed by White Fence’s Tim Presley as his new label Birth Records’ first associate artist, San Francisco folklorist Jessica Pratt has just released a new LP bearing the title ‘Night Faces’.
Pratt’s voice, likened by an enamoured Presley to “Stevie Nicks singing over David Crosby demos, with the intimacy of a Sibylle Baier”, is at the heart of her rare artistry; a hushed, Eskimo-kiss tenor that bats at the pane between vintage wist and modern angst.
