Approved: Hallo… I Love You!

Normally I’d pre-empt any reference to a band being ‘twee’ with an acknowledgement that this might not be a term they’d bestow upon themselves. But, frankly, if you call yourselves Hallo… I Love You! you’re just asking for it. In actual fact, this Liverpool-based band, formed by 28 Costumes frontman Chris McIntosh, aren’t quite as twee as their name would suggest, partly due to them having eschewed jangly guitars for poppy synths.
Currently unsigned, Hallo… I Love You! released their debut single, ‘Walk Me To The Sea’, in March, the seven inch vinyl version of which came with sea-themed Fuzzy Felt to play with. If that wasn’t enough, the lead track has a killer chorus that sets a high standard for future releases. Also up on their MySpace is another fine piece of synth-pop, ‘Silent Sleep’, which suggests that those standards will be easily met.
