Fyfe & Iskra Strings

Fyfe and Iskra Strings have announced a new collaborative EP to be released later this year, blending classical music and pop with uncommonly successful results.

“Over the summer of 2017 I made a weekly trip to Fyfe’s studio to drink coffee, enjoy friendship and fire off as many musical ideas as time would allow”, recalls Iskra Strings’ James Underwood.

“The whole project was recorded in one space – my production room – which adds an element of sonic and emotional consistency that I really enjoy hearing in records”, adds Paul Dixon, aka Fyfe. “It’s one of the most enjoyable projects I’ve worked on to date”.

He continues: “Having spent the last few years making records alone, working with James helped to open my eyes to the power of collaboration. Reacting in real-time to someone else’s approach to harmony, melody and structure meant there was a real momentum when developing ideas together and a definite release from creative self-consciousness”.
