As the frontwoman of Curve, Toni Halliday was jointly responsible for some of the finest music to emerge out of the decade known as the 90s. That is an indisputable fact. The duo’s releases this side of the year 2000, before their split in 2005, included a few pretty special tracks, too. So, after five years, it’s very good to hear Halliday’s voice on some new music once again.

Three years in the making, Chatelaine’s debut album, ‘Take A Line For A Walk’, is a collaboration with songwriter Louise Dowd. Stripped of Curve’s wall of sound production, Halliday’s voice is still as strong as ever and she has found new places to travel both musically and lyrically, though Curve fans will not feel left behind. You can hear the album in full on the Chatelaine website, plus two remixes of opening track ‘Broken Bones’ by Flood and Kurt Feldman from The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart.
