Arc Iris

Arc Iris have announced that they will release their second album of the year, ‘Icon Of Ego’, in October. Following last month’s ‘Foggy Lullaby’ – a reimagining of Joni Mitchell’s ‘Blue’, which the band began touring last year – the latest record muses on the nature of fame and celebrity.

Originally started as a solo project by former Low Anthem member Jocie Adams, for the new album the trio draw in part on their own experiences in the music industry. And they have certainly had their fair share of highs and lows. From early beginnings and a rise to fame, only to lose various key deals, to climbing back up again to a point where they can happily knock out a couple of albums in the space of a few months, they’ve experienced a lot.

New single ‘$GNMS’ sees them back in reimagining mode, this time reworking themselves and rebuilding the opening track from their debut album ‘Money Gnomes’. The jaunty folk sound of the original is ditched entirely, in favour of a twisting piece of theatrical, electronic pop that’s a delight to get lost in. Listen here.
