“This is the clearest expression of our vision of the future of personal computing, a simple multi-touch piece of glass that instantly transforms into anything you want it to be”, says Apple chief Tim Cook.

So yes, they’re releasing a bigger iPad. The Pro. For pros. And anyone with money to burn. And there’s a magnetically-connected keyboard and an Apple Pencil for those looking to really splash out the cash.

The iPad Pro was once of a number of announcements at the tech giant’s big announcement event yesterday. Quite a bit of focus went on the rather-long-time-coming updated Apple TV set-top box, which will be available over here from next month, and will be rather appy because, said Cook, “our vision for TV is simple and provocative: we believe the future of television is apps”.

And while yesterday’s product pitch focused more on the games element of the new Apple TV, the upgraded telly-boxes’ app store includes the all-important Apple Music app, bringing the firm’s much hyped new music service to telly screens. And the Apple TV version of the music service, we are told, will come with all the same features as Apple Music on Mac, iPhone and iPad. So it will be utterly unusable and screw up your music collection. Only joking. Partly.

Talking of iPhones, there were two of them being launched yesterday too. And with 3D touch! Who’d have thought it’d possible. Me.
