All-new Strictly Rhythm to open London office
By CMU Editorial | Published on Wednesday 19 May 2010
New York house label Strictly Rhythm has announced it is properly relaunching as an independent label, and will open a London office later this year.
Strictly Rhythm, which worked with the likes of Roger Sanchez, Barbara Tucker, Masters At Work, Erick Morillo, Josh Wink, Armand Van Helden, Danny Tenaglia and David Morales in the 1990s, spent much of the last decade on hiatus after a brief alliance with Warner Music. It reappeared on the scene in 2007 via a partnership with UK dance independent Defected, which led the way to a full relaunch now.
The label’s founder Mark Finkelstein told CMU: “I would like to thank Simon Dunmore and the Defected team for all that they have done in helping to re-launch Strictly Rhythm. I look forward to a continued close relationship between Strictly Rhythm and Defected in the future”.
Dunmore responded: “During the 20 years I have known Mark Finkelstein he has become a mentor and a close friend. It has been a pleasure to work with him directly and help re-establish Strictly Rhythm in today’s market. I look forward to continuing our special relationship”.
