Look kids, isn’t this neat? Abbey Road Studios is releasing recordings of each show on Robbie Williams’ ‘Swing Both Ways’ arena trek via its instant ‘straight-to-CD’ service Live Here Now, which has done similar things with Blur, Tinie Tempah, Depeche Mode, Pixies, Deadmau5 and Goldfrapp. See, neat!

High quality audio rips of all the dates will be available to buy immediately, as soon as the show’s over, as a digital file and/or as CDs on sale on site, or exclusively online via the shop on Robbo’s official website.

The pan-European tour, which began straight outta Budapest on Friday, reaches the UK on 13 Jun with a date at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena. Full listings are on this page.

Time now for some words from David Rowntree, Head at Live Here Now: “We’re absolutely delighted to be working with an artist of Robbie Williams’ stature. More and more artists and management are recognising the value of creating new releases from gigs. The service Live Here Now provides is a logical extension of the live music industry’s role as a key revenue stream, with gig-derived product generating sales from core fans, without cannibalising existing retail releases”.

Tim Clark, of Williams’ management co ie:music, adds: “What could be a better memento of an unforgettable evening than a live, unexpurgated recording of a Robbie Williams swing concert? Whether buying a CD on the night or online later we know that fans love this opportunity and Robbie always tries to give them what they want! Abbey Road have all the expertise and the experience to deliver recordings of the highest quality”.
