Abba’s Anderson and Ulvaes write new Eurovision theme with Avicii
By Andy Malt | Published on Tuesday 16 April 2013
The theme tune for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest (apparently that’s a thing) will be composed by some people who know a thing or two about writing classic Eurovision tunes – ABBA’s Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus. And Avicii.
Entitled ‘We Write The Story’, the new song will be performed live by the trio for the first time at the contest on Malmö in Sweden on 18 May.
Andersson and Ulvasue said that after being hired for the job, broadcaster SVT’s “vision for the contest” had “led us on to the assignment to collaborate with Avicii on a piece of mutual understanding and fellowship”.
“It’s a lot of fun and very inspiring”, they added. I’m not sure that’s for them to say.
